Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Avocado oil, for frying
  • Bang Bang Sauce
  • ¼ cup plus 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 ½ teaspoons sriracha sauce
  • 2 ¼ tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 ½ teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste

Directions

  1. Stir together all sauce ingredients and set aside.
  2. Whisk together flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a wide bowl.
  3. Dip shrimp in egg, then dredge in the flour mixture. Shake off excess and place on a baking sheet or plate. Repeat with all shrimp.
  4. Heat a thin layer of oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Working in batches, fry shrimp, making sure not to crowd the pan — wait until the bottom of the shrimp is golden brown before flipping, then flip and cook through on the other side.
  5. Remove from skillet and repeat until all shrimp are fried.
  6. Dip in sauce and enjoy!
