Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chunks (can use chips)
  • 4 Heath candy bars (1.4 ounces each), coarsely chopped

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.
  2. In another bowl, beat the butter, eggs and vanilla until smooth. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined; the batter will be thick.
  3. Spread into a 13x9 inch baking pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Sprinkle with the chocolate chunks and the chopped candy bars; press gently into batter.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  5. Cool on a wire rack and cut into bars.
