The baking half of the friendship bread cycle: leftover starter mixed with instant vanilla pudding, cinnamon and nuts, baked as two loaves.

Before you start: This picks up where Amish Friendship Bread leaves off — you need a batch of fed starter on hand before any of these amounts make sense.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oil
  • ½ cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 large package instant vanilla pudding

Directions

  1. Using the remaining starter batter, add the oil, milk, eggs, and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, baking soda, chopped nuts, and instant vanilla pudding.
  3. Mix and pour into 2 large loaf pans, well greased and coated with sugar-cinnamon.
  4. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.
