Caramel Frosting

Brown sugar boiled with butter and milk, cooled, then beaten with powdered sugar — enough for two layer cakes.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 ¾ cups powdered sugar

Directions

  1. Melt butter in a pan; add brown sugar. Boil over low heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  2. Add milk; continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil.
  3. Remove from heat; cool, then add powdered sugar.
  4. Beat until thick enough to spread. Frosts 2 layer cakes.
