Hot Fudge Sauce

Unsweetened chocolate and sweetened condensed milk cooked thick in a double boiler, thinned with hot water; makes two cups.

Ingredients

  • 3 (1-ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup hot water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. In the top of a double boiler, melt the chocolate. Stir in the milk.
  2. Cook until very thick, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the hot water, salt, and sugar. Cook until the mixture is smooth and the desired thickness.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
  5. Serve hot. Makes 2 cups.
