Pear Salad

Ingredients

  • 3-ounce package lime gelatin
  • 1 cup pear juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon flavoring
  • 2 3-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1-pound can pears, drained
  • 1 cup cream, whipped, or 2-ounce package whipped topping, whipped
  • 1/2 cup maraschino cherries, quartered
  • 1/3 cup pecans, chopped

Directions

  1. Dissolve the gelatin in boiling pear juice.
  2. Add the lemon flavoring and beat in the cream cheese.
  3. Add the drained pears, which have been crushed.
  4. Chill until mixture is syrupy, then fold in the whipped cream or topping mix, maraschino cherries and nuts.
  5. Pour into a 9-inch square pan and chill until firm.
