Quaker Squares Praline Pecan Crunch

Cereal and pecans baked an hour at 250 degrees in a microwaved corn syrup caramel, stirred every twenty minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package Quaker Squares, Brown Sugar or Cinnamon (8 cups)
  • 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
  • ½ cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons 70% vegetable oil spread in sticks (butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 250 degrees. Spray a 13x9 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Combine cereal and pecans in the pan; set aside.
  3. In a large microwaveable bowl, combine sugar, corn syrup, and vegetable oil spread.
  4. Microwave on High for 1 minute 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave again for 30 seconds or until boiling.
  5. Stir vanilla and baking soda into the mixture.
  6. Pour over cereal; stir to coat mixture evenly.
  7. Bake 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
  8. Spread on a baking sheet and cool completely; break into pieces. Store tightly covered.
