Ingredients

  • 8 slices bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
  • 4 large onions, cut in rings
  • ½-1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup cider vinegar
  • 1 (15 ounce) can dried limas, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can green limas, drained
  • 1 (16 ounce) can dark red kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (17 ounce) can New England style baked beans, undrained

Directions

  1. Slice onions into bacon fat in a skillet; add brown sugar, mustard, garlic powder, salt and vinegar. Cook covered for 20 minutes.
  2. Add onions to beans and crumbled bacon.
  3. Pour into a 3-quart casserole and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, or cook in a crock-pot.
  4. Serves 12.
