Sweet Roll Dough
Base yeast dough with milk, eggs and shortening, kneaded and given two rises — for cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls or coffee cakes.

Can be used for any type of rolls: dinner rolls, coffee cakes, etc.

Ingredients
- ½ cup warm water
- 2 packages dry yeast
- 1 ½ cups lukewarm milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup soft shortening
- half of 7 to 7 1/2 cups sifted flour
Directions
- Mix water and yeast and stir to dissolve.
- Stir in the lukewarm milk, sugar, salt, eggs, shortening, and half of the flour; mix with a spoon until smooth.
- Add enough of the remaining flour to handle easily.
- Knead about 5 minutes.
- Let rise until doubled.
- Punch down.
- Let rise again.
