Apple Walnut Cake

Before you start: The steps never say where the beaten egg, oil and vanilla go. Stir them into the apple-sugar mixture before you alternate in the flour.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups coarsely chopped apples
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

  1. Combine apples and sugar; let stand.
  2. Beat eggs, oil, and vanilla together.
  3. Mix flour, soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Stir flour mixture in alternately with the apple mixture. Stir in chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
  6. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
