Ingredients
- 1 package grand size cinnamon rolls with icing
- 1 Granny Smith apple, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1/4 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 orange
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Set icing aside.
- Separate cinnamon rolls and cut each roll in half. Place rolls on a baking stone in pinwheel fashion around a cookie-cutter circle, with each half having one point toward the center and the other toward the edge of the baking stone — each cinnamon roll half will be next to the other, flat side facing rounded side.
- Gently press cinnamon rolls together with fingers and seal. Roll dough out to within 1 inch of the edge of the baking stone.
- Peel, core, and slice apple, then chop with walnuts. Place in a bowl. Zest the orange to measure 1 teaspoon zest; set aside. Juice the orange to measure 4 teaspoons juice; sprinkle 3 teaspoons juice over apple mixture.
- Spread apple mixture evenly over cinnamon rolls.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven; cool 5 minutes on rack.
- Add orange zest and remaining 1 teaspoon juice to icing. Mix well and drizzle over warm rolls. Serve warm.
