Rice Krispies Bars

Butter and miniature marshmallows melted in the microwave, stirred into cereal, pressed flat and cut into squares.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup butter
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies

Directions

  1. Place butter in a 2-quart dish. Heat in microwave on full power 30-45 seconds or until melted.
  2. Stir in marshmallows, coating with butter. Cook in microwave on full power 1 ½ minutes or until marshmallows are melted, stirring halfway through cooking time.
  3. Stir in cereal. Mix until well coated. Pat evenly into dish. Sprinkle with decorations if desired.
  4. Let stand until cool and set. Cut into squares.
